At Woodrow Craft, four playful ceramicists and three black cats share a sunny studio, big ideas, and a lot of clay. We offer hands-on lessons and lively workshops for beginners and makers who want to push their practice. Our co-op blends craft and community—each piece in our shop is handmade, distinctive, and ready to brighten your table or your day. Come learn, make, or take home something with a story.

Our Artists

Heather Harmon

Heather Harmon is the owner and heart behind Woodrow Craft, where clay, creativity, and a little bit of controlled chaos come together.

Heather earned her M.A. in Ceramic Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and spent years teaching ceramics, 2D design, and 3D design as an instructor at Arkansas Tech University, Henderson State University, and the University of Central Arkansas. She loves teaching just as much as she loves making—and especially loves watching someone discover that they really can make something with their own two hands.

Her creativity doesn’t stop when she leaves the pottery wheel. Right next to the studio is her hydroponic shipping-container farm, where she grows herbs and greens for local restaurants and CSA customers. She also runs a cottage bakery and grows, dries, and sells herbs through Franklin Farms.

In her life outside the studio, Heather shares her home with her partner of 12 years, their 7-year-old daughter, two kitties, and eight chickens. There’s usually something growing, baking, or being made—and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Kelley Freeland

Kelley Freeland is a designer, maker, animal lover, and unapologetic collector of cats. When she’s not creating, designing, or getting her hands dirty with clay at Woodrow Craft, there’s a good chance she’s feeding a feral cat colony, setting a trap for a TNR mission, transporting somebody to a vet appointment, or trying to convince herself that she absolutely does not need to bring home another cat.

With a background in studio art and graphic design, Kelley has always been happiest when she’s making something. Ceramics gives her a chance to step away from the screen, experiment, get messy, and make beautifully detailed handbuilt pieces.

Her love of cats has naturally made its way into the studio, too. Three black rescues—Rudy, Mr. Jones, and Daisy—call Woodrow Craft home, where they serve as studio mascots, supervisors, quality-control inspectors, and occasional agents of chaos.

For Kelley, Woodrow Craft brings together some of her favorite things: art, making things by hand, creative people, community and, apparently, collecting cats.

Cate Davis Handley

Cate Davis Handley is a ceramic artist based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Originally from Louisiana, she began taking lessons at Woodrow Craft as a beginner, and what started as creative escape soon turned into an obsession with clay. Cate specializes in using delicate carving and detailed underglaze techniques to bring her surfaces to life. She explores natural themes, capturing everything from native wildflowers to expressive, stylized faces of whimsical characters. She balances her studio practice with her river guiding service on the Buffalo River, where you can find her in the spring and early summer at www.yonderadventurecompany.com She lives in Hillcrest, with her husband, daughter and black lab, Lula.
